SWEET CHARITY
May 5 - 27, 2012
Directed by Maureen Burgess and Judi Williams.
Musical Direction by Peter Kaukiainen.
Have you ever known a girl who wanted something so badly, that she tried too hard to get it? Meet Charity, the girl who wants to be loved so much, that she has lost sight of who she is.
SWEET CHARITY is a tender, poignant and funny look at the misadventures, in the life and loves encountered by the gullible and guileless Charity Hope Valentine, a dance hall hostess who always gives her heart and her dreams to the wrong man.
Charity sings, dances, laughs and cries her way through a string of disastrous romances, supported in her quest for true love by her fellow workers, who are always there to pick her up when things don’t quite go to plan. With the comic wit of writer Neil Simon, and Bob Fosse’s stunning choreography, this show is a comedy spectacular!
Musical numbers include Hey Big Spender, Rhythm of Life, If My Friends Could See Me Now, Too Many Tomorrows, There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This, I'm a Brass Band and Baby, Dream Your Dream.
(CHMCC also produced Sweet Charity in October 2002, when it was directed by Brian Fitzsimmons)
